QUESTIONS FOR THE ARTIST
Q: I'm doing a report on Fred,
can I ask him questions?
A: Yes! Generally that isn’t
a problem. But please give him enough time to get back to you.
Q: I would like to know more about
Fred as an artist.
A: You may want to check
out his Facebook Fan Page at: www.facebook.com/GothicFantasyArt.
Fred himself maintains this page and shares personal insights to his art
often.
Q: Where does Fred get his inspiration?
A: Fantasy and mythology
have always been big passions of Fred and he gets his inspirations from
many places. In an article about how he creates his work he said:
"I am greatly inspired by nature, so it is important for me to spend
time walking, sitting, pondering, or dwelling and waiting for inspiration
to strike. That inspiration can come from something as simple as a butterfly
or a bee hopping from flower to flower. It can even come from just watching
the sunset. It has to be the greatest show on earth. That fantastic display
is there everyday and doesn’t cost us a penny. It’s surprising how much
inspiration can come from something so simple. When you really take the
time to stop and appreciate these things then life brings on a new meaning.
This is what I express through my art. We live on a truly beautiful planet,
but we get so caught up with things that we don’t always have the time
to recognise that. Art can be that reminder."
Q: I want to meet Fred in person,
is that possible?
A: At the moment Fred is
busy with painting and writing his novel, but check his updates regularly
for any festival or signing appearances.
Q: What is Fred working on next?
A: Having had a problem with
my hand early 2011 which left him unable to paint the traditional way he
used to, and having had to completely transform the way he works, he’s
realised one cannot predict ones own path. What can be said though is that
since he started working with new technologies in the realms of 3D art,
it has brought about some new revelations. This means he will be able to
do things that nobody else is currently doing, blurring the boundaries
of reality and fantasy, which he finds very exciting… so watch this space…
and if you haven’t yet, why not sign up for the news updates or join him
on facebook, twitter etc. |
